MORGAN COUNTY — Local emergency officials are seeking around $12,000 to put together a second disaster trailer that can be used for the county’s next disaster.
While the county has already created one trailer that is kept in the northern end of the county, officials say a second in the southern half of the county will ensure that when the next tornado or flood hits, residents can be sure they will get help as soon as possible.
Modestly housed in an Army surplus trailer, Morgan County Emergency Medical Service Association’s first Mass Casualty Trailer, kept at the Brooklyn Fire Department, might not seem like much to the casual observer, but is capable of bringing badly needed medical supplies within the first hour of a disaster.
