U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will visit Kansas State University on Tuesday to highlight the importance of protecting the American food supply and agriculture economy from potential biological threats.
According to the Kansas Bio Science Authroity, Secretary Napolitano and Gov. Kathleen Sebelius will tour K-State's Biosecurity Research Institute and convene a briefing with K-State officials, KBA president Tom Thornton, and other state leaders regarding food safety and the importance of research to be conducted at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility.
